This domain spent years comparing software. The complaint that fills the comment section under every such comparison is the same one: the free thing was not free. A trial renewed without warning. A free tier slowed to a crawl on day twenty. A browser add-on turned out to be selling browsing data. The pages here are written to prevent that letter.

Questions people ask before the first key
Is there a free VPN that is actually safe?
Yes, some are. The safe ones are open about how they earn: a visible data cap or a limited free tier next to a paid plan. Be careful with apps that are vague about what they collect or who owns them.
Why does BSR not offer a permanent free plan?
Because a permanent free plan has to be funded by ads, data or a degraded service, and we do not want to run any of those. Five full days with no card costs us a little and shows you everything.
Do I need a card for the free VPN trial here?
No. The bot issues a working key without asking for payment details. Payment only comes up after the five days, and only if you ask to continue.
What happens if I forget about the trial?
Nothing. The key stops working on its own. There is no subscription running in the background and no charge can appear later.
Can I use the free days on several devices?
