Free VPNs on Android: the short answer
The Play Store lists hundreds of free VPNs for Android, and independent studies keep finding the same problems in many of them: advertising libraries, too many permissions and unclear owners. The safe routes are narrow. Use the capped free tier of a known paid provider, or use an open source client with a key from a service you have chosen. BSR works the second way. Setup with an open client

- 2Open @bsr_key_bot in Telegram and request the five free days. No Google account link, email or card.
- 3In v2rayNG tap the plus sign and choose import from QR code or from clipboard. In Hiddify tap new profile.
- 4Accept Android's connection request prompt. It appears only once.
- 5Tap the connect button. A key icon in the status bar shows that the tunnel is up.

Android features to switch on
