The claims worth ignoring
Three phrases appear on almost every VPN sales page and mean almost nothing. Encryption described as fit for an army is ordinary AES or ChaCha20, the same ciphers your browser already uses for every secure site. Total anonymity is not something a tunnel can deliver, because accounts, cookies and payment records identify you far better than an address. And fastest VPN depends on where the tester sat that morning.
The claims that do carry information are dull ones: which protocol, which jurisdiction, what is logged, whether the apps are open source, and how you pay. Those are the ones we try to answer on every page. When a provider is vague on any of the five, treat the vagueness as the answer. A company that is proud of its logging policy or its ownership puts both where you can find them in one click.

Questions people ask before the first key
Can you explain a VPN in one breath?
Picture a private encrypted pipe running from your device to a server. Whoever owns the Wi-Fi sees the pipe and no contents. The websites on the far end deal with the server's address, not yours.
Do I need a VPN at home?
If you trust your provider and do not need another location, often not. It earns its place on public Wi-Fi, on filtered networks and while travelling.
How does a VPN differ from a plain proxy?
They are different tools. A proxy typically serves a single app and may leave the traffic readable, while a VPN takes in the entire device and encrypts the whole path to the server.
If I turn on a VPN, does Google still know it is me?
Not really. Your address and traffic are kept from the local network, but a login, a cookie or a browser fingerprint still tells a site who you are.
Are VPNs legal in the United States?
Yes. Firms and private users run them as routine security tools. The tunnel changes nothing about which rules apply to your actions.
Why does BSR use VLESS and not a well known protocol?
Because VLESS over Reality looks like regular HTTPS to a network, so it works where OpenVPN and WireGuard are filtered. The clients page explains the details.
