The claims worth ignoring
Three phrases appear on almost every VPN sales page and mean almost nothing. Encryption described as fit for an army is ordinary AES or ChaCha20, the same ciphers your browser already uses for every secure site. Total anonymity is not something a tunnel can deliver, because accounts, cookies and payment records identify you far better than an address. And fastest VPN depends on where the tester sat that morning.
The claims that do carry information are dull ones: which protocol, which jurisdiction, what is logged, whether the apps are open source, and how you pay. Those are the ones we try to answer on every page. When a provider is vague on any of the five, treat the vagueness as the answer. A company that is proud of its logging policy or its ownership puts both where you can find them in one click.

Questions people ask before the first key
What is the simplest way to have a VPN explained?
It is a private, encrypted pipe from your device to a server. The local network sees the pipe and nothing inside it. Websites see the server and not you.
Do I need a VPN at home?
If you trust your provider and do not need another location, often not. It earns its place on public Wi-Fi, on filtered networks and while travelling.
Is a VPN the same as a proxy?
No. A proxy usually forwards one application's traffic and often without encryption. A VPN covers the whole device and encrypts everything between you and the server.
Does a VPN make me anonymous?
No. It hides your address and your traffic from the local network. Logins, cookies and fingerprints still identify you to the sites you use.
Are VPNs legal in the United States?
Yes. They are ordinary security tools used by companies and individuals. What you do through one is covered by the same laws as without it.
Why does BSR use VLESS and not a well known protocol?
Because VLESS over Reality looks like regular HTTPS to a network, so it works where OpenVPN and WireGuard are filtered. The clients page explains the details.
