VLESS clients in short
BSR does not publish an app. The key, a line that starts with vless://, goes into a free client built by an independent open source project. Most of these programs grew out of the V2Ray and Xray projects, which is why people call them v2ray clients, and nearly all of them read the same link format. Pick one for your platform, import the key by QR or from the clipboard, and you are connected.
Which one you choose is mostly taste. They differ in interface, in how much they expose and in how they route traffic, not in what the key can do. If a client stops being maintained, the same key moves to another in a minute.

The protocol under the key
VLESS is a lightweight transport from the Xray project. On its own it carries no encryption of its own and relies on TLS. Reality is the part that makes it hard to filter: the server answers a probe exactly as a well known public website would, so a network that inspects the handshake sees an ordinary HTTPS session. There is no fixed signature to match, which is the weakness of OpenVPN and, increasingly, WireGuard on strict networks.
It runs over TCP on port 443 by default, the same port as every secure website. That choice costs a little latency compared with UDP based protocols and buys the ability to pass almost any firewall. The TCP vs UDP guide explains that trade.
None of this needs configuring by hand. The vless:// line already contains the server address, the port, the transport and the Reality parameters, so a client that imports it has everything it needs. The settings screens exist for people who want to route only some apps through the tunnel or to change the local DNS behaviour.

Questions people ask before the first key
Which of the VLESS clients is best for a beginner?
Hiddify. It has the same interface on every platform and a single connect button. v2rayN and v2rayNG expose more settings, which helps later and gets in the way at first.
Are these v2ray clients safe to install?
The ones listed are open source with public code and active maintainers. Install them only from the official store listing or the project's GitHub releases page, never from a mirror.
Why does the iPhone list include a paid app?
Shadowrocket is popular and costs a few dollars once. Streisand and V2Box are free and read the same key, so paying is optional.
Can I use the same key in two different clients?
Yes. The key does not care which client opens it. Up to five devices can be connected at once.
Do I need to understand protocols to use this?
No. Importing the key sets everything. The protocol pages are there for people who want to know what they are running.
Will the key work in a WireGuard or OpenVPN app?
No. Those apps speak different protocols. The key needs a client that reads vless:// links.
