v2rayN in short

v2rayN is a free, open source client for Windows that runs the Xray and sing-box cores behind a simple list of servers. It reads vless:// links directly, which makes it a natural fit for a BSR key. Recent versions also run on Linux and macOS, but Windows remains its home. There is nothing to buy and no account inside it. It is a tool that opens tunnels to whatever servers you add.

The only place to download it is the releases page of the 2dust/v2rayN repository on GitHub. Copies on download portals are a risk, because this program will carry all of your traffic.

Install and first connection

1Open the releases page of 2dust/v2rayN on GitHub and download the Windows 64 bit package. The self contained package includes the .NET runtime it needs.
2Unpack the archive into a folder you will keep, for example in Documents, and start v2rayN.exe.
3Request five free days from @bsr_key_bot in Telegram and copy the vless:// line.
4Click the v2rayN window and press Ctrl+V. The server appears in the list. Select it and press Enter to make it active.
5At the bottom of the window set System proxy to Set system proxy, or switch on TUN mode for full coverage.

System proxy or TUN mode

With the system proxy set, browsers and most desktop programs use the tunnel, and you do not need administrator rights. Games, some launchers and command line tools ignore the system proxy. TUN mode creates a virtual adapter that captures everything. Start v2rayN as administrator, enable the TUN switch and confirm on an IP check page. For everyday use TUN mode is the setting to keep.

When you close the program from the tray menu it clears the proxy setting. If Windows is stuck without internet after a crash, open the proxy settings in Windows and turn the manual proxy off.

Useful features once it works

▸Routing settings: send only selected domains through the tunnel, or exclude local sites.

Troubleshooting

✓Import does nothing: copy the whole line, starting with vless://, with no spaces around it.
✓The connection times out: check the system clock first. TLS fails if the time is wrong.
✓It worked yesterday and not today: test the real delay, and ask the bot to show the key again if needed.
✓Antivirus removes files: add the v2rayN folder to the exclusions after checking that the download came from GitHub.
✓A program is missing the new address: it ignores the system proxy, so switch to TUN mode.

Why we recommend it

The code is public, the project is long lived, and it has no commercial tie to any VPN seller, including us. If v2rayN is ever abandoned, the same key works in Hiddify or NekoRay. That independence is the reason BSR issues keys and does not publish apps. It also means our interests and the client's interests are separate.
