Is a free virtual private network safe for online banking?
Your bank encrypts the session itself, so the tunnel is not the weak point. The risk is the free app on your device, if it collects more than it should.
Is there any difference between a VPN and a virtual private network?
None. One is the abbreviation of the other. Marketing sometimes uses the long form to sound more technical.
